The marketplace is calm and sedate; groups of people walk here and there. It is like any other marketplace; in a few hours, you know where the various shops are -- those of the blacksmith, the cooper, the tailor, the butcher, the baker, and so on -- and have spoken with many of the shopkeepers. You manage to haggle a good deal of several dense loaves of bread, some goat cheese, a few waterskins, a couple of flasks of oil, and a hooded lantern. The last merchant is an amiable and garrulous fellow, and you only realize when he begins to close up shop that the sun is setting. It is time to return to the inn.
